Nova Learning Centre began with a simple observation: more South African families are choosing home education, but very few have access to the structure, routine, and community support that makes it sustainable long-term.
Nick, Nova's founder, brings a background in HR and building structured operational systems to the project — and saw an opportunity to bring that same discipline to home education facilitation. Nova was created to give home-schooling families in the Bedfordview area a dedicated, well-run space where children benefit from consistency, supervision, and the company of other learners, without losing the flexibility that drew their families to home education in the first place.
The name Stella Nova — "New Star, New Beginning" — reflects what we hope every family experiences here: a fresh start, held together by structure, and delivered with warmth.
Nova Learning Centre is a facilitation service supporting learners following Impaq's CAPS-aligned curriculum. Nova is not a registered school. Families register independently with Impaq and their Provincial Education Department under Section 51 of the South African Schools Act; Nova provides the facilitation environment, routine, and support that helps that registration work well in practice.
